PARKS The City of Bridgeport Department of Parks is responsible for maintaining and managing the parks and other related facilities such as Fairchild Wheeler Golf Course, Wonderland of Ice, Beardsley Zoo, and Kennedy Stadium. They are also responsible for the maintenance and upkeep of street trees. For more information on these programs, look here and here. |

The City of Bridgeport's Department of Recreation serves over 1,000 families annually through our night recreation programs during the school year & our summer tennis and day camps. Beginning in late October Blackham and J.F.K. (High Horizons) Pool are open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday. Any city resident may swim at Blackham Pool or J.F.K. (High Horizons) from 6 PM-8:45 PM. Monday & Wednesday nights are designated for SENIOR SWIMMING at Blackham Pool. Blackham is located at 425 Thorme Street (map)
