The Bridgeport Department of Public Purchasing subscribes to all applicable State Statutes, City of Bridgeport Ordinances (see Chapter 2.38 CODE OF ETHICS), NIGP Purchasing Code of Ethics regarding purchasing contract.

FUNCTION: Purchase all articles and materials for the use and needs of all departments, boards, committees and offices of all City departments including the Board of Education.

SERVICES PROVIDED:

Prepare Invitations To Bid for public bidding to secure the bid most suitable  for the requirements of the city and its taxpayers with regard to all construction, vehicles, equipment, supplies, materials and whatsoever is necessary for operation of all city departments.

Prepare necessary contracts for execution by sureties and contractors, and signature by the mayor or authorized individual for the City of Bridgeport.

Process all requisitions and issue purchase orders, and maintain records for accountability to auditors, the public and the city.

PEOPLE SERVED: All city departments including the Board of Education, city taxpayers, vendors, newspapers, state and federal government agencies.
